If we haven't met yet, hello! I’m Melanie (or Mel to most), the person behind Elm Marketing Solutions.
I’ll let you in on a little secret: when I was starting this business, all the "clever" and "high-tech" names seemed to be taken. So, I kept it simple. I took my name, flipped the letters, and Elm Marketing Solutions was born.
It might not be the most complex brand story you’ve ever heard, but it represents exactly how I work. In an industry that loves to hide behind "synergy" and "deliverables," I prefer to keep things transparent.
The Problem with "Professional" Jargon
We’ve all been to those websites. You read three paragraphs and still aren't quite sure what they actually do. It’s all "leveraging assets" and "optimising paradigms."
Psychologically, that jargon does two things:
It creates a wall: It makes the business feel faceless and untouchable.
It breeds distrust: If you can’t explain what you do in plain English, a customer starts to wonder if you really understand it yourself.
Marketing is a Conversation, Not a Presentation
I believe the best marketing feels like a chat over a cup of coffee. You have a problem (maybe your website is outdated, or your social media feels like a ghost town), and I have the expertise to help.
When you strip away the "salesy" talk, you’re left with the most important ingredient: Trust. * You trust that I’ll show up.
You trust that I won’t baffle you with tech-speak to justify a bill.
You trust that there is a real person—Mel—who is actually doing the work.
Rooted in Reality
Just like an Elm tree, a good business needs strong roots. Those roots aren't made of algorithms or clever slogans; they are made of reliable, honest relationships.
At the end of the day, people buy from people. Whether you are a plumber in Consett or a consultant in London, showing your "human" side isn't a weakness—it’s your greatest strength.
